Simply type in a few words or partial words. Your entry will be used to query the
database image names, notes, and category fields for matches, according to the check
boxes you select.
Entries are not case sensitive. There are no wildcards or other formatting possibilities.
Everything you enter is taken exactly as typed. You will only receive a positive result
when the matching text in the database contains every single piece of your input.
The search is performed as a full text search, i.e. searching for the term "auto" will also
find the words "automobile" or "semiautomatic."
Select one to three terms to use in searching the Cumulus Database. Combine your
queries with the junctors "or," "and," or "but not." Each search term can be constrained
to a very specific field within the Cumulus database, permitting construction of detailed
search queries.
You must click the Find button to submit your request when using a query form that
contains multiple fields.
Click the button "Category Search" to view the complete Cumulus database category
hierarchy. Each category is presented as a link. When selected this link will find all
files which are assigned the given category.
Select one of the three radio buttons below the search fields to choose between a text
only, text and thumbnail, or thumbnail only view of your search results.
To change between presentations of a specific result, simply select the new format
desired and click "Find Again" without entering any item in the search field.
You can easily search again amongst the files contained in your current result by
entering an additional query at the top of the results page and selecting the button "Find
Again."
Results are presented in the format selected, with "Next" and "Previous" buttons to
browse through results which contain many matches to your query.
Results are preceded by a new simple search window, which contains a new button
"Find Again." This button applies a new search only within the current selection, while
"Find" applies the query across the entire database.
Certain templates contain the ability to deliver larger previews of certain files. This
capability must be enabled by the Web Server Administrator.
If you see a link in your search results entitled Preview, selecting the link will let you
see the file.
Each search result contains an "info" button which will present a separate window that
emulates the Cumulus Client Record Information window.
Certain templates contain the ability to mark items found during searches for collection
and eventual ordering or download. This capability must be enabled by your Web
Server administrator.
If enabled, each search result will contain a check box entitled "Add to collection."
Selecting this box places this item in the Collection Basket, which can process an order
or start an ISDN transfer.
To enter the Collection Basket, select the "Collection Basket" button.
Items you have marked for collection while browsing will be displayed here in the reply
format chosen for your search replies.
While in the Collection Basket you may preview or get information about selections,
deselect specific items from the collection, empty the entire basket, perform additional
searches, or proceed to a choice of several delivery CGIs.
Be sure to move between pages using the buttons within the Cumulus CGI Interface.
Using the "Forward" and "Back" buttons of your Internet Client software may not
notify the Cumulus Internet Image Server of your selections.
Click the "Proceed" button from within the Collection Basket to confirm your
selections. Enter your name and e-mail address to save this information with your
selections to the hard disk of the Web Server Administrator.
